Customer Review: Perfect family gift & my no fail kettle corn recipe

I've had this popcorn popper for about 8 years now and it has been money well spent. Once you've seasoned your pot correctly, you can make very healthy popcorn (1 tsp oil to 1/2 c. popcorn) or make fun popcorn like kettle corn. This year we sent them to everyone for family gifts and the response has been phenomenal. I also e-mailed everyone my no fail kettle corn recipe and wanted to share.
Step 1: Preparing your popper
Season you popcorn popper by making several really oily batches of regular popcorn. The trick with this popper is to season it properly and NEVER wash it with soap. Hot water will clean it up just fine. If you do wash it with soap by mistake, make sure you season it again before attempting this recipe or you'll have serious issues with the sugar sticking and burning.
Step 2: Ingredients & tools
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup popcorn
2 TBSP vegetable or saffola oil
Salt
Cookie sheet
Wooden spoon
Pot holder
Step 3: Cooking Instructions
Add the oil, sugar and popcorn in the popper and place temperature on medium high heat (you may need to adjust based on how hot your stove gets). Crank the handle steadily and at a medium pace. Continue cranking as popcorn slowly begins to pop and stir until the the crank is too hard to turn. Remove from heat and immediately dump popcorn onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Use the wooden spoon to distribute evently and salt immediately. Once the popcorn is cooled, it will break up easily. Be sure to check for stray old maids and remove if needed.
Step 3: Clean up
You can make up to two batches of kettle popcorn without having to rinse the pot. After that, you'll need to rins thoroughly with hot water to remove any stuck on sugar and popcorn and then wipe down with a paper towel and start again. For regular popcorn, I just rinse with hot water and wipe with a paper towel before I put it away.
I've used raw sugar in the past and had good results, but it burns much quicker than regular white sugar, so keep cranking during the popcorn cycle. Brown sugar is a no no and really makes a huge mess in the popper. Good luck and enjoy your purchase. This really is my favorite kitchen appliance and I've never regretted the purchase!
